My name is Connor Page, and I am a 13 year-old kid living in Boulder, Colorado. I'm in eighth grade, and I am a Boy Scout. As a Boy Scout, we learn to be kind and help other people.
Every year, Boy Scouts sell popcorn to pay our Scout expenses. Three years ago (while I was still a Cub Scout), I decided to do something different with popcorn. When I learned there were thousands of kids nationwide that go to bed hungry every night (and never get to eat fun food like popcorn), I decided to try find a way to give as many kids as possible a container of popcorn. A gift from one kid to another.
Since that time, I have met a bunch of really generous people and business owners who have been kind enough to help me with this mission. And together, we've given away a ton of popcorn to hungry kids!
Here's How I Am Helping Kids With Popcorn
There are thousands of kids in the United States that don't get enough to eat. Most of these kids never even get to eat fun things like popcorn.
My goal is to give some fancy Boy Scout popcorn to as many of these kids as possible.
Can you please help me donate popcorn to kids?
I am working with a fantastic organization called "Feeding America". They have Food Banks all over the nation, and help feed hungry people.
They also feed thousands of kids. There are two special programs for kids:
1.) Backpack Program: Here, hungry kids are given special backpacks filled with healthy and kid-friendly food when they go home from school on the weekend or over a holiday.
2.) Kids Cafe: There are 17,000 "Kids Cafes" feeding hungry kids all over America.
